Holiday Break

Are you off work for the holiday season? If you are, I have a question.  Did you use this as an opportunity to increase your training? Or did you reduce your training, or even take the entire time off?

I try to use the end of year holiday season as the start of my heavy training for spring nationals, followed by the open water season. Now is the time to increase your training yardage, yes, even for sprinters. You want to get your aerobic base up.  As a triathlete it is, in many area of the country, not a great time for being outside, so put extra time into the pool.

So consider using the holiday downtime as a training up-time.
